  1. A stickleback is any FISH of the family 
  2. Gasterosteidae, found in marine and fresh 
  3. waters of the northern hemisphere. It has a 
  4. long body that can grow to 18cm (7inches). 
  5. The spines along a stickleback's back take 
  6. the place of the first dorsal fin, and can be 
  7. raised to make the fish difficult to eat for 
  8. predators.
